Tbilisoba – one of the most exciting holidays of the autumn harvest and the city’s foundation in Georgia – Day of Tbilisi. It takes place every year in the month of October. There are fairs, processions, concerts and sports events. Awarding honorary citizenship of Tbilisi by the city government also occurs in the framework of Tbilisoba.

 

Day1.

Meeting at the airport in Tbilisi. Transfer to the hotel.

Free time.

Dinner at the restaurant with national show-program.

Return to the hotel.

Overnight at the hotel.

 

 

Day2.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Excursion to Tbilisi:   ( +photo shoot as a present)

Visiting the district of sulphur baths- Abanotubani. This area is the cradle of the capital.

Visiting  Metekhi Church ( Church of Assumption of the 12th century). It is a burial place of the first Georgian martyr-queen Shushanik .

Visiting Narikala Fortresss (citadel complex of the 4th century).

Visiting the fair in honor of the holiday “Tbilisoba”.

Visiting the statue of “Mother Georgia”.

Visiting Sioni Cathedral of the Dormition (VI century).

Visiting  Anchiskhati Basilica of St Mary - the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi. It dates from the 6th century.

Visiting Holy Trinity Church – the main cathedral of Georgian Orthodox Church. Today it is the biggest Orthodox Church  in the  Caucasus.

Excursion to Mtatsminda ( Holy Mount): visiting the grave of A.Griboedov. From Mtatsminda one can enjoy beautiful views of Tbilisi.

Walking through the streets of old Tbilisi. There are a lot of modern cafes and bars there.

Free time.

Overnight at the hotel.

 

 

Day3.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Excursion to Mtskheta (UNESCO) – Gori (Town-museum of Stalin):

Visiting Jvari Monastery (VI century). It stands on the mountaintop at the confluence of the rivers Mtkvari and Aragvi.

Visiting Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (“life giving pillar”  XI century).

Visiting Samtavro Monastery (the oldest convents in Georgia of XI century).

Visiting House- museum of Stalin. Josef Stalin was born in town Gori  in 1879.

Return to Tbilisi.

Free time.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day4.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Excursion to Kakheti:

Excursion in  Sighnaghi – City of love, music and art (from the height of the  fence of the royal residence can be seen snow-capped mountains and a beautiful view of the Alazani Valley. The town is built in the style of southern Italian classicism with Georgian elements and enclosed by a double wall with 28 towers.

Visiting Bodbe Monastery –  the burial place of St Nino ,female evangelist of Georgia.

Dinner at one of Georgian restaurants.

 

Day5.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Driving to Kartli Region. Wear comfortable and convenient clothes as we are going to harvest for the whole year.

Of course, after working in the vineyard all the participants gather for the traditional Georgian table. Lots of delicious Georgian dishes, wine and songs – in shimmering music and wine can be heard the voice of ancient Georgia!

Return to Tbilisi.

Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 6.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport.

Departure.
